The Shield of Zira has nothing to do with this story.

You cannot activate the Potion of Dreams if your summoning gauge is insufficient : it was the case at move #163.

The bug is that this condition was not checked when you tried to activate the card.
You should have received an error message and the card should not activate and trigger any activation effects.

Activating Potions of dreams (when Zira's shield available) whereas summoning jauge is not high enough to play a card block the game. No actions are possible, only the message "Do you want to activate Zira" Y/N followed by "Not possible" for both case remains at screen.

I've just had the same combination lock down my actions and was forced to abandon the game and take the karma losses.

was sacrificing potion of dreams to summon a new card.

it allowed me to activate the potions of dreams to engage the sacrifice ability.

shield of zira then kicked in, because of the triggering of sacrifice effect and asked if i want to subsitiute the shield in place or not. It would not permit either a yes or no choice to proceed further and this game doesn't seem to have an undo action for effects which don't affect the visible knowledge aspect.

the reason given that i couldn't take either of the options, was that it claimed the summoning guage was full, even though the sacrifice of the card happens before the new card can be brought in, which would make space for the new card.

@ Sir Ownzalot: The potion of dreams cannot be actived when the summoning gauge is insufficient to summon another card AFTER its sacrifice.
The count of your cards in play is NOT your summoning gauge. See the number near the star in your panel.

Comments without any specific reference to a game situation are not verifiable and often uninteresting.

@diamant - thankyou for the pleasant introduction to this site for a novice who is just seeking assistance.

Having had time to go back through the game log now, (Table #76195830) one of the previous players had reduced all players summoning gauge, causing my cards in play to be more than what is normally allowed.

Thus the activation of the potion of dreams sacrifice effect, should not have been a permissible choice given the game state, however the program has allowed it to be activated, which has then subsequently caused the game to error and lock in between this activation and the choice of substituting the shield's sacrifice in place of the potions sacrifice.

Exactly the same issue for me, invocation gauge had been reduced by an opponent, tried to invocate using the potion of life and shield of Zira. Could not use it or cancel. We had to grop the game.

I had similar problem with potion of dreams and shield of zira with less summoning gauge than available. I had 8 played cards and my summoning gauge was reduced to 7. I ignored that part and clicked on potion of dreams. The only prompt was to either use shield of zira or not but both options were invalid because I had less summoning gauge. I tried to use bonus action to increase summoning gauge and again I was unable to use bonus actions.

+1, exactly the same problem. If you DO NOT HAVE Zira, the correct message displays that you have insufficient summoning spaces. If you DO HAVE ZIra, however, it processes Dreams, looks for Zira BEFORE checking summoning space, then presents the "Do you want to sacrifice Zira?" choice of Yes/No. But BOTH OPTIONS result in the message "You do not have enough summoning space" and there's NO WAY OUT. Clicking either button results in the, correct, message of lacking summoning space, but you CANNOT CANCEL. Refreshing doesn't work, it's just still waiting for that choice, but neither choice can proceed.

There needs to be a 3rd option of CANCEL that goes back and doesn't use Potion of Dreams. Either that or there needs to be a check for summoning gauge space before the Shield of Zira check.
