The rule in English is: if the ones digit is 1, 2, 3, and the tens digit is *not* 1, then use the special suffix. There is apparently already some special-case code to handle 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places themselves, so the rule just needs to be generalised a bit. (e.g. instead of "if (ranking == 1) ..." replace with "if (ranking / 10 % 10 != 1 && ranking % 10 == 1) ..." and similarly for 2nd and 3rd place)

Nearly a year later and this bug has still not been fixed. I feel it would be a rather simple one to fix too.
It is wrong on all the competition screens (it is ok for 1st, 2nd & 3rd) but as inital report says just needs to be fixed for 21th, 22th, 23th, 31th, 32th, 33th etc..

I put in another bug report, not realizing this had already been done. It seems absolutely laughable that the status of this is "Bug has not been reproduced by developers yet". I reproduce it on my own practically every time my rank ends in 1, 2 or 3!

"Not reproduced by developers yet" is the status every report starts with. It just means it has been ignored so far.

This bug seems to have been partially fixed: at least the rankings on the game panel (e.g., boardgamearena.com/gamepanel?game=hex) now use the correct ordinals.

As pointed out by The Luggage, there are lots of other places where it has not been fixed though.

Appreciate that this was reported. This is a very simple problem to fix, and should be.

That doesn't quite fix the problem, Skinny Kitten, because of 11th, 12th, and 13th. But it doesn't take much to include those cases.

Well, I've no hope that anybody'll actually do something, but here's fully tested logic to provide the correct suffix (in Java, sorry):

I’ve just had this happy problem, making it to 72nd for Can’t Stop, or 72th as written against my personal profile page. The ranking list is correct with 72nd.

It’s a nice problem to have (being in the top 100 of a game) but the polish is a little tarnished by the incorrect display.

For all those saying it's a simple solution and a case statement would do, you are mistaken. As a translated web site, a solution that works for all languages must be devised. Still, others have managed this...

This is the "42th" suggestion for this problem.

If language is a barrier for proper suffixes, just remove them all together.

"Your rank is 72."
