Since Nine Men‘s Morris is a draw game (two players that make no error will always draw, and it‘s pretty easy to play for a draw, especially for the 2nd player), draws should not affect ELO and arena scores.
In the current system, where a draw counts as half a loss for the stronger player / half a win for the lower player, this produces various issues:
- Weak players play for draws to gain points
- Strong players push to keep going with the game (or to abandon it mutually) in order to not lose points
- Strong players are incentived to create further accounts to screw their fellow competitors by playing for draws
Solution: Draw games neither affect ELO nor arena score of either player (Connect 4 shows that this is possible to implement)

Rapporthistorik
Though I dont understand/agree: In Connect 4, this is implemented game-specific like this - no ELO change when draws occur. Also, I did mark this as suggestion and not as bug. Finally, seeing this is possible in other games, I dont see why I should push this BGA-wide and with that collect all the disagreement from games where draws resulting in score changes is seen as a good thing.
See this Connect 4 game that ended in a draw. In Nine Men‘s Morris, with such an ELO difference, this would lose me 12-16 ELO points. In the current implementation of C4 it lost me none, which is what I suggest for Nine Men‘s Morris.
