Grab your gear and hitch your wagon — the frontier awaits. Pioneer Days, a game of tough choices and rugged strategy, bringing the spirit of the Oregon Trail to your tabletop, no matter where you are.
In Pioneer Days, you are leading a wagon train across a perilous stretch of the American frontier. Gold glitters in the riverbeds, townsfolk offer their skills, and opportunity lies in every direction. But danger is never far behind. Storms, famine, disease, and raids threaten to derail even the most carefully planned journey.
Each round begins with a dice draft. Players draw dice from a bag, roll them, and take turns choosing one. Every die offers a different benefit: collect silver, hire townsfolk, gather resources like wood and medicine, or take other valuable actions based on the result. But there's a catch — the dice you don't choose advance disaster tracks, pushing the group closer to the next crisis.
As you travel from town to town, you can recruit helpful characters who offer ongoing advantages and end-game bonuses. You can expand your wagon train, pan for gold, and grow your herd of cattle. But you’ll also need to prepare. When disaster strikes, you’ll face hard tests:
A raid can cost you half your silver.
A famine threatens your cattle unless you pay to feed them.
A disease may force you to lose townsfolk if you lack medicine.
A storm can damage wagons that aren’t protected with wood.
Along the way, each town offers its own unique goals. Meeting these can earn you valuable rewards and a stronger position heading into the next leg of the journey.
The winner is the player who manages their resources best, protects their people, and earns the most points by the journey’s end. Planning ahead is key — and so is adapting when the trail turns rough.
Whether you're drawn to dice drafting, resource management, or just want to see if you can survive what the wild frontier throws at you, Pioneer Days offers a challenging, richly thematic ride you can learn in no-time through the tutorial, or by clicking the link below:
